According to her introductory video, her mother and daughter is her ticket in achieving her dreams. She realized that there is a need for an insurance when her mother got sick. She did not just get an insurance, she also sells an insurance. It supports their needs, her mother and her child. She supported her child alone since her child was only 1 month old. She said that it’s not easy to be a single mom but the joy that she is receiving can’t be compared to others. She applied her learnings from selling insurance to her singing career. She makes sure that the listener will understand the emotion of the song. If she wins the Tawag ng Tanghalan, she’ll save the money for her daughter’s studies to make sure that her daughter will have a brighter future.

During the first round, she sang Elton John’s Your song. The judges were in awe with her performance and they even gave her a standing ovation.
On the last round, she sang Simon & Garfunkel’s Scarborough Fair.
With a 95.0 score against the defending champion’s 91.4, she was hailed as the new defending champion.
On Thursday’s episode (7/13) of Tawag ng Tanghalan, Nabela Gudito was able to defend her title with the score of 94.0 against the daily winner’s 90.6.
Last Friday’s episode (7/14) of Tawag ng Tanghalan was for Nabela Gudito. She successfully defended her title for the time with the score of 95.6 against the daily winner’s 91.4. She is now 2 wins away from qualifying to semi-finals.
