Tourists around the world are flocking to the island to have a glimpse of the beauty of the beaches and its various activities. With the increase of tourist arrival, more high class hotels are now sprouting in the island. This is a very good indication that the tourism industry in Bohol is now recovering after the earthquake devastation. One of the recent news about the island is the continuation on the construction of New Bohol Airport. With the construction of the new airport in the island, more tourists could take a vacation and experience the beauty of the island.
Panglao is an island in the north Bohol Sea, located in the Central Visayas Region of the Visayas island group, in the south-central Philippines.
The island has an area of 80.5 square kilometres (31.1 sq mi). It is within Bohol Province, and is divided into two municipalities: Dauis and Panglao. Panglao is located southwest of the island of Bohol and east of Cebu.

If you have not yet visited the island for a long time, you’ll be amazed with the transformation of the island. Luxury hotels are already in Panglao. The roads to different areas in the island are already accessible. Everything has already transformed that could compete to other global tourism destinations.
Recently, I was able to visit Alona Beach in Tawala, Panglao. Alona Beach could be considered as the center of entertainment in Panglao. The docking point for various activities like dolphin watching and island hopping in Balicasag Island and Pamilacan Island is also located in Alona Beach. Since Alona Beach caters a lot of tourists, more establishments and hotels has been built in the nearby areas. Everything a tourist needs can now be provided by Panglao. Establishments like banks, restaurants, hotels, recreational places and even bars are already in the area near Alona Beach.
I was not able to visit Alona Beach for a long time already. My last visit of the place was way back 4 years ago since I went to other places in Panglao when I have time to visit the island. For 4 years, I can say that Alona Beach has transformed a lot. Since I was able to visit Alona Beach at night, I can say that the place can now be compared to the activities in Boracay. Whatever Boracay could offer to its tourists in terms of night activities, Alona Beach can now also serve those activities.
