by The Philippine Medical Society of Northern California had conducted a medical mission here in Bohol. This event was actually happened 1 week ago. Many of the Boholanos availed the opportunity to get a free medical attention. The event was conducted last January 19 to 23, 2015. With the social media posts and local radio station’s broadcast, there were a lot of Boholanos who were able to avail the comprehensive surgical, medical, dental, eye and health education mission.
The medical mission was conducted at Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City. It was sponsored by the Philippine Medical Society of Northern California and supported by the Provincial Government of Bohol and City Government of Tagbilaran. Other coordinating government, public and private agencies were Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital, Philippine Medical Society, Bohol Medical Care Institue, First Consolidated Bank, Bohol Medical Society, Bohol Saint Jude General Hospital, Bohol Eye and Ear Center, Rotary Club of Tagbilaran and Association of Municipal Health Officers-Bohol Chapter.
I was able to visit the location of the medical mission last Thursday, January 22. There were a lot of Boholanos who were lining up for the chance to avail the free medical check-up. As a proof that many of the Boholanos had availed the chance, they were suggesting the new comers to be back at 1PM since the allowable number of visitors for the morning was already met.
