by Not everyone has been blessed financially when we were born. Others need to give extra effort to attain our ambitions in life. There is a saying that “Poverty is not a hindrance to success”. This is indeed very true to this humble Boholano from the town of San Isidro. The story of Jerry Gomaned is a manifestation that hard work and dedication would really have good results.
I personally know Jerry Gomaned since we came from the same town, San Isidro. He is famous in our town because of his experiences while he was still in college. But, what made me to decide to post an article about him is the video that I saw on my facebook wall. The video showcases his experiences while he was studying in Tagbilaran City. That was then that I realized that I have to share his life in order for other Boholanos and other people to be inspired by his story.
A friend of mine shared a video of Jerry Gomaned’s performance on facebook. The video actually is a music video of his song, SUKI. He is not only hard working but he is also a talented person. He composed and sang the song SUKI which is about his life, from working hard to survive his college years and slowly achieving his ambitions.
The video started with Jerry buying vegetables from a market in Tagbilaran City. Since he was studying in PMI-Bohol, he enters PMI first on his video and sold his vegetables to the faculty members of the school. The next scenes are truly inspiring since he enters various schools and establishments with him carrying the vegetables to be sold to the employees. As a student of PMI-Bohol, he enters those establishments in uniform.

He is truly an inspiring person. I heard a saying that “To born poor is not a sin but to die poor is a sin”. This saying is for us to reflect on working hard to achieve our ambitions. Just like Jerry Gomaned, he did everything to graduate college which is a step towards achieving his future dreams.
