Sasayaw Ka Sa Sarap sa Chicken Ati-Atihan

Sasayaw ka sa sarap! That is how they describe when you have already tried to dine at Chicken Ati-atihan in Tagbilaran City. The slogan proudly declares “sasayaw ka sa sarap” or “so delicious, it will make you dance”. The name of their restaurant refers to the popular local Visayan festival Ati-Atihan where people are dancing on the streets.

Address : #13 Ma. Clara Street, Tagbilaran City
Phone : (038) 501-9963 / (038) 412-4339
Operating Hours: Open Daily 9:00 am – 11:00 pm

How to get there?
The restaurant is located along Ma. Clara Street and just few meters (walking distance) outside the Tagbilaran City Port. The restaurant is just a few meters away from the University of Bohol campus. If you came from the Tagbilaran port, you may walk straight on the port’s road, around 15 minutes walk, and you’ll see the restaurant on the left side. You may also ride the tricycle from the port to the restaurant at a minimum fare. If you came from other places in Tagbilaran City, you may ride on the tricycle and tell the driver that you want to go to Chicken Ati-atihan. The restaurant is already famous in the city so everyone knows the location of the resto.

My first time to dine at Chicken Ati-Atihan was way back year 2008. The good service and the delicious foods that they offer have not changed even if that was already 6 years ago. The only thing that changed is the space of the restaurant. They have already made the place bigger to accommodate more customers. If there are special occasions or I am with my friends or families, we always dine at the restaurant due to the delicious foods and the good ambiance of the restaurant. I have already tried the restaurant maybe around 5 times.

If you are bringing your own vehicle with you, you don’t have to worry since they have a parking space infront of their restaurant. The place could accommodate around 8 to 10 cars. If possible, you have to come early at the restaurant before the customers would peak at around 12NN or 7PM.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, you’ll smell right away the delicious grilled chickens. The waiter will assist you right away with your place. Their tables and chairs are made of wood. If you are in a big group, you can move the tables and chairs for you to eat together. You can select the place which is located near the counter, at the center or near the entrance of the restaurant. You may select any of those places since the restaurant has a very good ambiance.

Once seated on your desired location, the waiter will give the menu right away. They offer a variety of Filipino dishes served in a very reasonable price. With the restaurant’s very good ambiance, diners will enjoy the feel-at-home dining experience.

Since their saying is “We didn’t invent chicken barbecue, we perfected it”, chicken barbecu is a must-try on the restaurant. You may add other varieties of Filipino dishes on your order. We usually order Chicken Ati-atihan with unli rice(P99), Chicken Tinola(P145) which is good for 3 to 4 persons and a drink. Here are some of the pictures of what we had tried before.

Waiting time for the foods to be served is around 15 to 20 minutes. Once the foods are already served, you have the option to eat using your bare hands. They are having a wash area near the counter. Most of the pinoys would prefer to eat using bare hands since you’ll feel the taste of the chicken even more while dipping the chicken on the mixture of vinegar and calamansi.

The place is now getting bigger which is enough to cater a lot of customers. If you happen to visit Bohol, don’t forget to try Chicken Ati-Atihan and taste their delicious grilled chickens.
